From Venus Rx cazimi to Mercury Rx cazimi
The Moon is in innovative Aquarius this Monday morning, as we try to catch our breath after a wild weekend that included an Aries Venus retrograde cazimi. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been seeing plenty of relationship sparks fly and other surprising revelations come up over the past few days.
But we’re not done yet, because not only are we still between eclipses – but today we’ve got a Mercury retrograde cazimi, where the planet of thought and communication will meet up with the bright Aries Sun.
Mercury retrograde in Aries is likely to make us feel impatient and feisty, but also potentially blocked – and so as it moves through the Sun’s heart, we can be looking for insights into how that blocked energy could be effectively released.
Venus and Mercury rejoin Neptune in Pisces
As we move into midweek and beyond, both Venus and Mercury are going to continue their retrograde journey and move back into Pisces, so we should get a break from some of that fiery impatience we’ve been feeling. As they enter back into that oceanic realm, they’re also going to each conjoin dreamy Neptune. If you’ve been listening to the podcast for a while, you can probably guess what I’m about to say – anytime there’s a big Neptune transit, it’s a cue to stay extra tuned in to your deep intuition, because Neptune can make things feel very cloudy and unreal. Neptune can also bring us very vivid and portentous dreams, so it’s a great time to be keeping a dream journal if you don’t already.
Solar eclipse in Aries – with a Piscean edge
On Saturday in the early morning hours we’ll be getting our biggest event of the week – a New Moon solar eclipse in Aries. Those of us in North America won’t be able to see it, but that doesn’t mean we won’t feel the astrological effects! Aries is the spark that lights the fire, and its ruler Mars is still in emotional Cancer right now – so don’t be surprised if you feel your emotions running high.
This Aries eclipse is the last in a series of Aries and Libra eclipses that started in April of 2023, and it’s interesting because even though the Sun and Moon will be in Aries, the Lunar Nodes, which are the points that give us eclipses, are in Pisces and Virgo. With Neptune, Venus, and Saturn also all in Pisces at the time of this eclipse, this one has a very Piscean tone. It might feel like things in your life are just carrying you along or sweeping you into something new.
With Saturn still in Pisces, this eclipse is also emphasizing those structures in our lives that we’ve been busy reconfiguring over the past few years. We only have a few more months of Saturn in Pisces, so this might be an end marker of sorts for those projects.
Neptune moves into Aries for the first time in 150 years
Finally, on Sunday morning, we’re going to have Neptune changing signs and entering Aries for the first time in our lifetimes. The last time it was in Aries was in the 1860s. In Aries, Neptune is going to be challenging us to work on new ways of envisioning our lives, caring for one another, and to think carefully about what it means to play the hero.
March is definitely one of the most dramatic astrological seasons of 2025, and this arguably the most dramatic week of all. So I hope you’re taking good care of yourself, taking lots of breaks when you need to, and giving yourself and others lots of grace.
This week’s theme: “What do you really want?”
Ultimately, a big theme of this period is figuring out which of your desires you’re going to listen to and honor.
So the theme for this week is, “What do you really want?” Even though there’s a lot of cloudy Neptunian energy in the mix, it’s still a time when we’re being confronted with choices that might feel major. And while astrology is great for describing the questions that confront us, only we can make the decisions about what direction we’re going to head.
