Kicking off with an intense Scorpio Full Moon
The Scorpio Full Moon is at its maximum this morning around 10am Pacific Time, bringing a deep intensity to this Monday morning. This passionate Moon is loosely opposing Uranus, planet of unexpected change, and aspecting Saturn, planet of structure – so it’s potentially shining a spotlight on the thing I’ve been calling “our big rock under the ocean” – that heavy, enduring Saturn-in-Pisces energy that’s been urging us to let go of old structures and embrace new ones. And it’s a good time to review those themes, because Saturn is currently wrapping up its time in Pisces. In just a little over a week it’ll enter Aries for the first time since 1996 – and while it’ll still have one more stint in Pisces over the coming Fall and Winter, this will be our first preview of what the next three years or so will bring. Saturn in Aries will be much less gentle – more about forcefully breaking down boundaries and carving new paths, so now is a time to be laying a firm foundation for those activities.
Jupiter squares off with the Lunar Nodes, potentially bringing new connections
We’ve also got Jupiter in Gemini taking center stage this week, as it makes a t-square to the fateful Lunar Nodes. The Nodes are the points that give us eclipses, opening and closing chapters in our lives, and when a planet makes a t-square to them it often signals something that we need to contend with or integrate in our lives. As I’ve said before, Jupiter in Gemini can be a little unpredictable. It hasn’t always given us the blessings or expansion that we were expecting. Still, this is a time when we should be keeping an eye out for things that could be seeds of future connections.
The Sun will also make a brief connection with the Nodes this week on its way through the final degrees of Taurus, bringing in an awareness of the practical, earthy side of matters.
Mercury and Venus vie with fiery Mars in Leo
This week we’ll also have Mercury, planet of thought and communication, and Venus, planet of resources and relationships, connecting with fiery Mars in Leo. Venus is moving more slowly, so its trine aspect to Mars will last longer, starting late this week and lingering on into next week. With Venus currently in Aries, this transit is one that could light some passionate fires, or potentially also heat up conflicts that have been brewing. Mercury’s square to Mars will be quicker, going exact on Saturday and then pretty much over by the end of the weekend. Mercury is currently in Taurus – so the issues stirred by this one are likely to be around matters of money or other tangible things.
Expect the unexpected over the weekend as the Sun conjoins Uranus
Finally, on Sunday we’ll have the Sun conjoining Uranus in Taurus, and you know what that means. Whenever we have Uranus activated, you can expect the unexpected. I feel like I’ve been saying this every weekend, but it’s a time to make sure you’re staying grounded, caring for yourself, and, if needed, saying no to things that overstretch you. The world is a very edgy and unpredictable place right now, and we all need a reminder that it’s okay to slow down and resist its frenetic pace.
This week’s theme: “embrace your passion”
So the theme for this week is “embrace your passion.” With this beautiful Scorpio Full Moon happening today, it’s a great time to dig down and remember what’s important to you. The transits this week are going to challenge each of us, in our own ways, to pursue and fight for the things we value. And to do that, we have to first know what it is that we really care about. So if it’s been a while since you’ve asked yourself what it is that really drives you, what really lights you up, this is your cue to turn inward and find that spark.
