Welcome to Taurus Season! The Sun entered the sign of the bull on Saturday, reminding us of the earthy wonders of springtime. The flowers are blooming, the bees are buzzing, birds are chirping, and there’s a sense of gearing up, cleaning out, or even maybe nesting in for the time ahead.
The Taurus Sun locks horns with Mars and Pluto
That said, the Taurus Sun is still locking horns with Mars and Pluto this week. We already experienced part of this same transit last week, and now it’ll be coming to a head as the Moon joins in to highlight Pluto in Aquarius today, and then conjoins the Sun for our monthly New Moon that will be exact around noon Pacific Time on Sunday.
This final part of the lunar cycle can often feel difficult. It’s associated with the idea of harvest, of letting things die or go to seed, of letting things dissolve so that they can be renewed. With Mars in Leo, the sign of the heroic lion, facing off with Pluto, planet of shadows, and both of these planets squaring the Taurus Sun, which is focused on the material resources we need to make life comfortable – it’s a week when we might be faced with some choices, challenges, or problems that make us want to tighten our grip.
Letting go of the details with the Pisces North Node, Saturn, and Venus
But counterintuitively, the message we’re getting right now is, “let go of the details.” You might remember that the South Node is currently in detail-oriented Virgo, and that’s the eclipse point that shows us what we need to release. And its companion the North Node, which shows us what we need to work on and strive for, is currently over in oceanic Pisces, with both Venus and Saturn right at the same degree. Pisces is a Jupiterian sign that is all about the big picture – all-encompassing vision, big ideas, and having a big heart for the world. It’s optimistic and intuitive. So even though things in the world right now might feel scarier and more precarious than ever, this week I’m encouraging you to experiment with believing that good things can still happen.
That said, Uranus, planet of unexpected change, is still making a sextile to the North Node – so we’re sure to get a few surprises too.

So the theme for this week is, “let go of control.” It’s a week when we might experience some shockwaves, and to ride them out successfully we’ll need to take the long view and not get caught up in the panic of the moment.
